1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing and using Aurora Bus services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Booking and Payment
All bookings are subject to availability. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule tours due to weather conditions, safety concerns, or insufficient bookings.
- Full payment is required at the time of booking
- Prices are in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and include applicable taxes
- You will receive a booking confirmation via email with your booking reference number
- Please arrive at the pickup location 15 minutes before departure time
3. Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is as follows:
- Cancellations made 48+ hours before tour departure: Full refund
- Cancellations made 24-48 hours before departure: 50% refund
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure: No refund
- No-shows: No refund
- Weather-related cancellations initiated by Aurora Bus: Full refund or rescheduling option
4. Weather and Aurora Viewing
Aurora Borealis viewing is a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed. Weather conditions, solar activity, and other factors affect visibility. No refunds are provided for tours where the Northern Lights are not visible due to natural conditions, provided the tour operates as scheduled.
5. Health and Safety
Participants must:
- Be in reasonable physical condition to participate in outdoor activities
- Inform us of any medical conditions that may affect participation
- Follow all safety instructions provided by our guides
- Dress appropriately for arctic winter conditions (-30°C to -40°C)
- Be at least 5 years old for regular tours (age restrictions may vary by tour type)
6. Liability and Insurance
Aurora Bus operates with appropriate commercial insurance and follows all safety regulations. However, participation in outdoor winter activities carries inherent risks. By booking a tour, you acknowledge these risks and agree that Aurora Bus, its employees, and partners are not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property except in cases of negligence.
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances.
7. Photography and Media
During tours, photos and videos may be taken for promotional purposes. By participating, you consent to the use of your image in Aurora Bus marketing materials. Please inform us if you do not wish to be photographed.
8. Code of Conduct
We expect all guests to:
- Treat staff, guides, and other guests with respect
- Follow environmental protection guidelines
- Refrain from behavior that endangers themselves or others
- Not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during tours
Aurora Bus reserves the right to refuse service or remove participants who violate these standards without refund.
9. Modifications to Service
Aurora Bus reserves the right to modify tour itineraries, schedules, or services due to weather, safety concerns, or operational requirements. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes.
10. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Northwest Territories and Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.

12. Force Majeure
Aurora Bus shall not be liable for failure to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Extreme weather conditions or natural disasters
- Government restrictions or public health emergencies
- Power outages or infrastructure failures
- Acts of terrorism or civil unrest
- Labor disputes or strikes
In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule your tour or provide a full refund.
13. Intellectual Property
All content on our website and in our marketing materials, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, photographs, and software, is the property of Aurora Bus or its licensors and is protected by Canadian and international copyright laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without express written permission. Personal, non-commercial use is permitted for booking purposes only.
14. Dispute Resolution
We strive to resolve all disputes amicably. If you have a concern or complaint:
- Contact us first at bookings@aurorabus.com to discuss the issue
- We will attempt to resolve disputes within 14 business days
- If unresolved, mediation may be pursued before legal action
- Any legal proceedings shall be conducted in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories
15. Equipment Rental Terms
If you rent equipment (winter clothing, cameras, etc.) from Aurora Bus:
- You are responsible for loss or damage beyond normal wear and tear
- Equipment must be returned at the end of the tour in the condition received
- Replacement or repair costs will be charged for damaged/lost items
- Security deposits may be required for certain high-value items
16. Special Requests and Accessibility
We strive to accommodate special requests and accessibility needs. Please inform us at the time of booking about:
- Mobility limitations or wheelchair accessibility requirements
- Dietary restrictions for tours including meals
- Language interpretation needs
- Any other special accommodations
While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests, we cannot guarantee all requests can be fulfilled due to the nature of arctic wilderness tours.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Aurora Bus regarding the use of our services and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
19. Changes to Terms
Aurora Bus reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent website notice. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
